Poison and Pain setting/Multi Pain
Introduction[edit]
Inflicting Pain and or Poison (often abbrev P/P) is often important in Another Eden as there are skills and equipment that can increase the damage output if the enemy has the corresponding status. This is often via Pain/Poison Grasta (unlocked after Main Story chapter 66). See the Multipliers tabs for character skills that can take advantage of the enemy having pain and or poison. See Recommendations on Grasta on suggestions on setups as the setup improves with competition of each part of the Main Story.
There are several reasons this infliction may fail:
- enemy resistance: a skill with a 100% chance of infliction may still fail due to natural enemy resistance, although skills with "ignore target/enemy resistance" can bypass the resistance.
- enemy barriers: can be bypassed entirely with Barrier Piercing or just burned though one stack at a time
- enemy immunity: extremely rarely some enemies are completely immune to statuses
- cure: the enemy can be cleansed of the status after infliction, through use of skills or other battle conditions. There is also an innate cure rate at the end of each turn thereafter, unless using P/P skills with "fixed turn duration".
Read more on the Status Affliction Chance page
Skills that offer "ignore resistance" and "fixed turn duration" greater than 3 turns together are useful for characters to take advantage of P/P-related damage increases. Turn duration and infliction chance are separate. Persistent just means that on infliction, the status effect will not be naturally cleansed, although persistent effects can still be removed via other ways.
This page focuses on notable character skills, but do note that some equipment also offers a chance to inflict these statuses - most notably Grastas enhanced with Dormant Ore, while other equipment instead allows the player to take advantage of the infliction (e.g. Miaki's Katana).
- In the wiki, the following icons are used indicate that pain/poison is one that ignore target resistance.
