Free Characters of Another Eden[edit]
Another Eden is a gacha game that provides the player with a variety of good free characters. These free characters are potentially stronger in some aspects, relative to characters that the player can obtain from Dream Encounters. They are useful for story progression as well as postgame content and can also be very good additions to parties with characters from Dreams.
With the exception of Complex Dream collaboration characters (which will no longer be obtainable after December 2026) and the Octopath collaboration characters (which will no longer be obtainable after December 2028), none of the characters and content described below are timed or limited, other than by story progression.
These characters also have the potential to obtain Personal Weapons and Armors which can be equipped to enhance them in unique ways.
Main Story Characters[edit]
Most of them join the party as 3★ characters in main story chapters.
Some of them can leave temporarily due to the story, but eventually they will re-join, and continue to travel with the player.
4★ Upgrade[edit]
For those who start at 3★, they can be upgraded to their 4★ class by spending their specific 4★ Class Tome, as well as common scripts.
Each of these, for main story characters, is guaranteed from a specific Side Story, which can be found by checking the tome's individual page. For instance, Sword Master Tome.
4★ Class Tomes can also be obtained as random drops in various Another Dungeons.
5★ Upgrade[edit]
All Main Story characters also have 5★ (the highest) classes available. But, for those who need to unlock it, the requirements will vary.
Some are unlocked through story progression, while others require the player to win a series of pre-determined encounter battles related to a story.
Once unlocked by progressing through the related story, to actually upgrade to the 5★ class, the player will need 10 Class Psalms, unique to each character, but they will not require any Chant Scripts. These drop from specific Very Hard Another Dungeons. These Psalms are also available in the Nopaew Emporium for 30 
Tsubura's Gems each.

Stellar Awakening[edit]
For some 5★ characters, there is the Stellar Awakening available. For Free Characters, there are ways to get the needed Starcharts from clearing certain optional content. You can NOT use the Allcosmos Starchart on Free Characters.
Episode (Side Story) Characters[edit]
They will usually join the party as a Guest 2★ at the beginning of each side episode, and will permanently join the roster upon Episode progression.
The 3★ and 4★ versions of these characters do not require any materials or Tomes, and will be automatically unlocked as Episode Quests rewards. These Episodes usually require the gathering of the relevant episode's points to progress through quests. Points are gained by killing episode monsters in the world, or in the episode's related Another Dungeon. For some collaboration side stories "Symphonies", gathering enough points will be required to unlock the related free characters' 5★ classes.
For those who do not have 5★ forms by the end of their episode, they may possess other methods of acquiring them, which can be released over time, and are referenced on their individual character pages.
Guest Tag[edit]
Characters that join your party may be denoted with a Purple Guest tag. The Guest tag defines that you have not completed their associated storyline and the character may leave the party at a later point in their storyline and officially join the party at a later time. Outside of their storyline, this status does not stop you from using the character like other members of your party.
Chance Encounter Characters[edit]
These are Azami, Gariyu and Cerrine. Chance Encounters involve a series of boss fights that can be found in the overworld. They are denoted with a red exclamation icon 
. The player will have to complete about five fights to recruit the associated character.
While they join the roster as 2★ or 4★ characters, they can be upgraded to 5★. The 4★ to 5★ upgrade requirements are the same as those for upgrading 4★s from Dreams, requiring a unique 5★ Class Tome & five Chant Scripts.

Awaken Series[edit]
As the story has expanded, similiar to chance encounters, a series of 5 fights have been used for unlocking 5★ AS classes as well. The Another Styles require having the original character at their max rarity, but will not require any additional scripts/tomes. Instead, they are obtained upon completion of the related fights and their stories.

Class Unlock[edit]
Similar to chance encounter and the awaken series, after fighting 5 fights you can unlock the 5★ board and be allowed to upgrade the unit. You are still required to obtain the upgrade materials.
