Royal Runner Mach Race[edit]
A little bit east from the Unigan Inn, a little girl will ask you if you want to participate in the Royal Runner Mach Race.
It consists of running errands across Unigan as fast as possible and returning to the starting point. To "run the errands" you simply have to pass in front of the various characters/points indicated by the girl before the race begins. If you can beat the Mach Lad and return to the girl before him, you'll obtain the corresponding award.
Note that you won't be able to see the minimap at top right during the race.
Timed Pressure Plates[edit]
In the Citadel of Time - Lower Sector you can find a room with a locked door inside. To unlock it you have to time your movements with one of your comrades (Arche) so that the eight pressure plates are stepped on at the same time. Arche's movements are a little erratic, so pay attention. If you fail enough times, Yuri will offer to assist to make the process easier. Behind the door there are three chests containing 5 Murmur Scripts, 5 Prayer Scripts and 1 Chant Script. There is no award associated with successfully opening the door.

Cooking is a new feature introduced with the Tails of the Brave Four side story. You can start it after beginning the story quest "The Brave Four" by interacting with the teal exclamation mark at either Acteul or Ratle. Then, enter the Acteul Tavern, and head downstairs to the kitchen to start cooking your first dish.
When preparing a dish, you will require its ingredients and have to choose a chef between Aldo, Amy, Cyrus, Cress, Yuri, Velvet or Milla. Each chef has different specialties and different chances of succeeding at the dish - even the best chef choice for a dish has a chance to fail it. Whether you succeed or fail at a dish, your mastery level for that dish will increase and the ingredients will be expended. Succeeding at the dish will fully restore your party's HP and MP, and you can even gain the dish as a consumable key item for your journeys if you're not already carrying a lunchbox item.
You start with only the Curry Rice recipe, but you can unlock a few more recipes by talking to residents in Acteul and Ratle marked with teal exclamation marks. Successfully cooking a dish can also inspire your other chefs to come up with more recipes of their own.
Once you reach maximum mastery for a dish, successfully cook it one more time to get an "ultimate" form of that dish. Show it to the Wonder Chef, and he will offer a unique piece of equipment of your choice. There are 11 pieces of equipment as rewards for mastering cooking - one for each dish - consisting of one of each weapon type and armor type.

The Citadel of Time continues to float in the sky even after falling apart. Aldo finds a mysterious tablet in the basement when he hears a voice from nowhere...
Procedure[edit]
After completion of the Symphony, you will unlock the ability to travel to the Citadel of Time Ruins. Descend to its depths, and you'll be faced with four tablets, each corresponding to one of the Tales characters. These tablets send you on Trials that reward you with the Tomes necessary to upgrade each of the characters to 5-star.
After finishing the four trials for the 5-star tomes, go back to face the "true" versions of each trial to obtain awakened true VC grasta for each character.
