Environmental Effects
Environmental effects are introduced with the release of Main Story Part 3 and are divided into 4 groups (Atmosphere, Ground, Special, & Weather). Each Environmental effect has it unique traits which can affect some Auras and may change how you apporach a battle. Environments change with time, and are updated when you change fields or start the game.
- Currently Rainbow can only be encountered in Flotsam Isle and its battlefield effects are unknown.
- Rain in Baruoki, Route 99, and Rippling Forest is not considered an Environmental effect.
- This also includes Rain in Future Garulea Continent (Another Dungeon)
- The snow in Kunlun Mountains, Kunlun Mountains (Hidden Path), and Hidden Village Itoise is not considered as Below Freezing or Diamond Dust
- This also includes snow in Underworld (Another Dungeon)
- Environments not only affect the Field, but they can have various effects in battle too.
- Active Environmental effects can be checked when first entering a Field or at any time on the Minimap.
- Though the effects on battle can only be checked through in game manual or in battle using the status on the environmental effect icon
Hollow Time Layer Only Effects[edit]
- Environmental effects in the Hollow Time Layer have additional traits.
- Certain fields have Environmental effects that can change over time.
- Occasionally, a Field under an Environmental effect will generate an entrance to a Phase Shift.
- A Phase Shift area contains special battles, and will be under a environment with severe Environmental Effects.
- You'll receive more of certain items by braving these warps, but after a certain number of battle turns have passed, you'll be ejected.
Severe Environmental Effects[edit]
Certain Environmental Effects are considered as Severe, and they can wildly affect the course of battles. Under Severe Environmental Effects, both positive and negative effects are amplified. Phase Shift will always be under Severe Environmental Effects.
Equipment[edit]
Some equipment have passive effects when there is an active Environmental Effect of certain type

- Atmosphere
- Ground
- Severe environment
Sidekick Auras[edit]
Sidekicks' Auras get activated when there is an active Environmental Effect of a certain type
