Enemies and Locations[edit]
When upgrading the hammer, some enemies can be fought anywhere, while others must be fought in the specific location specified. The help text on the upgrade screen is slightly different in these two cases. I don't have the exact phrasing handy, but for level 8, it would say something like:
- Defeat 5 Red Search Bits. Location: Industrial Ruins (HARD).
- Defeat a Vengeful Soldier. Common location: Route 99.
In that case, the bits must be fought in the Hard AD, while the soldier can be fought anywhere (but is easily found and fought on Rt. 99). I was curious about the phrasing, so I tried fighting a Vengeful Soldier in the Hard AD instead. Lo and behold, the game gave me credit. (Conversely, it did not give me credit for the level 3 Elite Goblins I tried fighting for Level 7.)
Now, my bigger issue: I can't think of a clean and obvious way to add this distinction to the table. Mersenne (talk) 12:16, 13 November 2019 (UTC)
