Quest 1: Examining the Bewitchment[edit]

An unusual monster has appeared in Lake Tiilen. It seems Parisa may be the key to defeating it…

While walking around Lake Tiilen with Aldo, Parisa suddenly stops and senses something. She then proceeds to find three soldiers in a state of confusion. The two take the soldiers to the inn in Acteul and the squad leader explains that they were investigating rumors of a monster, but found themselves surrounded by a strange fog and lost their way.

When Aldo tells them that there was no fog, they resolve to go back to hunt the monster, despite Parisa’s timid objection. She then reveals to Aldo that the fog was probably not normal, so they go after the soldiers to check if they are safe. Later, they find them again in a state of confusion.

Aldo and Parisa start seeing the fog as well and hear a singing voice. Parisa plays her lute and its music penetrates through the fog, which reveals the monster that created the illusion. The monster escapes and Parisa tells the soldiers to leave it to her and Aldo. Thanks to Parisa’s lute, they manage to slay it. Aldo didn’t know that Parisa was a good musician, and she explains that she used to be in a minstrel troupe.

They then report to the soldiers, who ask Parisa to sing for them. She reluctantly complies and her song makes everyone cry. The soldiers run away and Parisa explains to Aldo that she was cursed: her voice brings nothing but sorrow.

Quest 2: Ultimate Speed[edit]

Parisa has become aware of a rumor. The arrowsmith’s apprentice in Ratle is having trouble making arrows.

Aldo and Paris find an arrowhead in the Zol Plains and decide to return it to the blacksmith in Ratle. The blacksmith calls on the arrowsmith’s apprentice, who says that the arrowhead was made by his mentor. The arrowsmith dropped it when he was attacked by a monster in the midst of collecting ore. Since the apprentice wants to do something to repay his mentor for everything he has done for him, Parisa offers to help him collect some more ore.

Aldo and Parisa fetch some ore in Vasu Mountains and Parisa admits that she wanted to help the apprentice, because he reminds her of herself. She reveals that she was an orphan who was taken in by the troupe. One of the minstrels was like a father to her and taught her how to play the lute, but she feels like she cannot repay him now due to her curse.

They proceed to bring the ore to the apprentice, who immediately starts working on it, but fails. As he is about to give up, Parisa tells him that if he does, everything his mentor did for him would be for nothing. He then accidentally drops one of his failed attempts and Parisa can hear the sound it makes when it falls. She asks him to drop one of his mentor’s arrowheads and can tell that the sounds they make are different.

The apprentice lets Parisa hear all of his failed attempts fall to the ground and she can tell what is wrong with them. He figures out that he needs to go to the Nadara Volcano, so Aldo and Parisa escort him there. Upon arrival, he explains that he needs to work there, so Aldo and Parisa defend him from some monsters while he works.

He manages to make an arrowhead that sounds even better than his mentor’s, according to its sound. Grateful, he gives it to Parisa as a thank you and leaves. Parisa in turn thanks Aldo for not leaving her alone, which reminded her how important it is to stay determined. She will keep the arrowhead as a reminder of her dream: to sing and make everyone happy.
