Character Quest 1[edit]

The Key Claw and Small Flower

While walking at Karek Swampland, Lokido stops to pick some herbs before realizing that the bag he uses to hold his herbs is missing. A girl who is picking flowers comes by and hands the bag to Aldo. Lokido attempts to thank her, but the girl calls him a fiend and runs away upon seeing him. Worried about the girl, Lokido and Aldo decide to follow her to Nuaru Uplands.

The two find the girl looking for flowers, and Lokido helps her with it. However, the girl is still hostile towards him, and mentions that she is planning to look for more flowers in the Moonlight Forest. Lokido disapproves, stating that it is too dangerous for her to go alone. The girl leaves, but Lokido and Aldo are still worried and decide to go check if she got home safely. Unbeknownst to them, the girl is actually hiding, and she heads for Moonlight Forest after the two leave.

In Unigan, they find the mother of the girl, who is worried about her daughter. Lokido tries to talk to her, but at the sight of him, she immediately accuses him of kidnapping her daughter, and calls the guards. Seeing this, the two decide to go to Moonlight Forest to look for the girl themselves.

Lokido and Aldo find the girl getting attacked by a monster, so they defeat it. The guards and the mother arrive as well, and Aldo defends Lokido after being he is called a fiend by the mother. Fortunately, seeing that the girl is unharmed, the guards decide to let Lokido go and leave with the girl and her mother. After they leave, Lokido tells Aldo that he is used to being feared, and thanks Aldo for trying to defend him. He picks up a flower, and they decide to go to Unigan to deliver the flower to the girl.

Back in Unigan, Lokido has Aldo deliver the flower. After a while, Aldo comes back, hands the flower to Lokido, and explains that the girl wants the one that picked it to give it to her. The girl also arrives, and Lokido gives the flower to her. The girl expresses her gratitude and apologizes for her behavior earlier, then leaves. Aldo suggests that Lokido should go and pick flowers with her next time.

Character Quest 2[edit]

The Unspoken Persecution

In Unigan, a knight informs Lokido that he is summoned by the captain of the guards.

Inside Miglance Castle, Lokido is accused of being a spy by an official. He denies it and explains his backstory. His mother was a human who lived in the shame of having a beast child, and she was chased off a cliff by beasts and died. He then proposes self-exile from Unigan, but Aldo disagrees. Seeing this, the official suggests him to work for the Unigan Guard instead to prove his innocence, and sends him off to eliminate some monsters at Serena Coast.

After defeating the monsters, Lokido asks Aldo why he is helping, to which Aldo answers that it is because they are friends. They then go back to Unigan Castle to report.

Back inside Unigan Castle, the official sends Lokido on another task, this time to Karek Swampland, saying that he cannot give Lokido the freedom to enter the city without trouble after only one job. Aldo tries to argue, but Lokido stops him, thinking that it is natural for people to be afraid of his beast blood, and accepts.

After finishing the task, Aldo expresses his discontent with Lokido looking down on himself, and convinces him to stand up for himself.

Inside Unigan Castle once more, the official attempts to send him on another task, but Aldo stops him. Lokido tells the official to stop insulting him, surprising the official. The official then tells Lokido that if a human vouched for him, he would be granted access to the city. Aldo attempts to vouch for Lokido, but the official disapproves and states that the voucher needs to be a well-known person. Suddenly, King Miglance appears, and vouches for Lokido. The official runs away, and King Miglance thanks Lokido for helping with killing the monsters. He states that nobody can choose how they were born, tells Lokido that he is special for having the strength of a beast and the wisdom of a human, then leaves. Lokido tells Aldo that he is proud that Aldo fights by his side, and Aldo says that the feeling is mutual.

Character Quest 3[edit]

The Proud Lineage

In Unigan, Lokido and Aldo hear from a man that a strange man is talking about creating a world where beasts and humans can coexist by the castle gate, so they decide to investigate.

They find the man giving a speech, and Lokido notices the scent of a beast on the man. He confronts the man and reveals him to be a beast, and he retreats to Serena Coast. Lokido and Aldo decide to pursue him.

They find the beast, who shares his ideal with the two. While Lokido remains distrustful of the beast, Aldo decides to believe in him, to which the beast comments that Aldo is the first human to agree with him. Suddenly, a beast woman and her lackeys appear and attacks the beast, calling him a traitor. Aldo draws his weapon and tries to defend him, but fails, and the beast is taken away to Beast King's Castle. Aldo decides to give chase, and Lokido, while hesitant, decides to go as well.

Inside Beast King's Castle, they see the beast being tortured by the beast woman. Despite this, the beast still holds onto his belief that there will eventually be a day when humans and beasts coexist. He also mentions that he had to leave the human girl he was with as they were shunned by both humans and beasts. The beast woman then tells the beast that she killed the girl, and that the girl had a child that looked like a beast. Overhearing this, Lokido and Aldo attack the beast woman and her lackeys. After being defeated, the beast woman delivers a fatal strike to the beast before dying. Lokido rushes over to the beast, his father, who comments that Lokido reminded him of the human girl before dying as well. Lokido asks Aldo to help him in holding a funeral for his father in Moonlight Forest.

In Moonlight Forest, they bury Lokido's father next to where his mother lays. Lokido then resolves to follow in his father's footsteps, to create a world where humans and beasts coexist.

AS Character Quest[edit]

Long Live Lokido...!

On Serena Coast, Aldo sees Lokido looking around, so he asks if Lokido is looking for something. Lokido explains that he is waiting for someone when a girl comes running to him. Aldo recognizes her as the girl that Lokido gave a flower to, and Lokido says that they have been hanging out. The girl tells Lokido and Aldo to go to Unigan while her mother is on a trip to Baruoki.

In Unigan, the girl confirms something with an elderly woman before leading a confused Lokido into the elderly woman's home. Inside, while waiting, the girl explains to Aldo that the elderly woman is going to make Lokido look good so that her mother would not be afraid of him. After a while, Lokido appears in a suit, and the elderly woman states that it is one of her late husband's old suits, adjusted to fit Lokido. While the girl is overjoyed, Lokido himself doesn't look happy. When asked about the reason on why the girl wants her mother to like Lokido, she states that it is because she wants her mother's blessing when she marries Lokido. Lokido is shocked, but the elderly woman convinces him that the girl is not serious and will forget about it eventually. The girl then tells Lokido to go meet her mother.

In Baruoki, while waiting for the girl who has gone to fetch her mother, Lokido tells Aldo that she appreciates the girl's honesty and genuine feelings towards him and that he wants to respond genuinely as well. He then leaves for something. After a while, the girl arrives with her mother. Then, to everyone's surprise, Lokido comes back not in the suit, but in a different attire entirely. Seeing this, the mother faints. Lokido explains to the flabbergasted girl that he is wearing equipment that awakens his beastly powers as he wants to distinguish himself from both humans and beasts. The girl runs away in anger, and Lokido and Aldo decide to look after the mother until she wakes up. Eventually, she does, and tells them that she does not fear Lokido as much as she did before because her daughter seemed happy when she told her stories about Lokido, and that she feared beasts because she lost her husband to them. Lokido then tells her to look around the village for the girl while he searches the outskirts with Aldo.

On Nuaru Uplands, while sulking, the girl gets attacked by a monster. Lokido and Aldo arrive on the scene and wards it off. As they plan to leave, they hear a scream belonging to the mother, who came to look for her daughter and is being attacked by the monster. Lokido then sacrifices himself to shield the mother from an attack. Aldo confirms that Lokido is not breathing and attacks the monster to avenge him, but is put into a disadvantageous situation. Suddenly, Lokido wakes up, surprising everyone, and rushes to assist Aldo. After the battle, the mother apologizes for putting Lokido in danger, and Lokido apologizes for unleashing his beastly power in front of her. The mother admits that she now likes Lokido, and Lokido and Aldo escort the girl and the mother back to Unigan.

Back in Unigan, the mother tells Lokido that he can visit them as often as he wants, then leaves with her daughter. Lokido tells Aldo that when he was down earlier, he had a dream. In the dream, Lokido, as a soul, saw a man with a scythe. The man with a scythe told Lokido that he was dead, but gave him a chance to go back to life if Lokido could defeat him. Lokido attempted to attack him, but could not as he was ephereal as a soul. However, through his resolve, his soul gained form, and he sent the reaper flying, coming back to life as a result. Back to the present, Lokido states that he would return from the grave a thousand times over in order to transform the world into someplace grander, and to continue his journey with Aldo.
