Tips for new players

• From Chapter 3 onward you have a bit more freedom before proceeding with the Main story.
• In Chapter 1 you should have obtained food from Feinne, Feinne’s Sandwiches can be eaten any time but it's recommended to eat them in places you cannot come and go as easily or right before a Boss fight. Food can be obtained from various places, though Inns and Hotels will be your main source for them, NPCs and random places can also give them to you.
• You can clear side quests to earn various rewards, though those can be cleared anytime later, the rewards are much more useful early on.
  • Progressing story can make some areas temporally inaccessible, later return is possible. And there are NO quests, missable by not starting them in early chapters.
• If you are struggling with random encounters, it's recommended that you level enough so that you are at least the same level as them or higher, Boss fights tend to be 5-10 levels above the random encounters in the area. Also check where to get Free Weapons and Armor.
• At first, focus using scrolls on one character, preferably a 5★, as low level characters get a bonus to battle EXP gain if you have a high level character in your roster. For more information, see Character EXP Table.
• Don't forget to go to the Gallery of Dreams and encounter new characters, for the main story it's more important to have a full team than to get high rarity characters, regardless who you get you can make use of them. Your future chronos stones can be saved.
• Switch characters between front and backline often as reserves characters can recover both HP and MP and characters coming into the frontline can invoke Valor Chants.
• Never revive with Chronos Stones, it's a waste and almost never useful since the battle afterwards will be harder anyways, it's best to prepare a bit more and attempt again.
• Upgrade your characters' Ability Boards regularly, it's the only way for your characters to learn skills.
  • On the same note, understand what skills your characters have and some enemies are resistant against certain type of attacks.
• Upgrade your Equipment often.
• From Chapter 13 onward you can also obtain new characters via collabs, go to Menu->Records->Symphony, they do not have story spoilers. Other free characters can be obtained via doing Episodes and Chance Encounters.
