Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

We Are the Elzion Guard!

Rufus has gone rogue in an effort to protect the people in Elzion. It seems the game of tag has gotten popular there.

Aldo and Rufus decide to go look for a man’s son who has gone to play a hero game on Route 99. They easily find the boy, but he doesn’t trust them and runs away. They go after him and rescue him from a synth human who recognizes Rufus as the Hero Extraordinaire. Finally, they bring the boy back to his father, who recognizes that Rufus has indeed acted as a hero.

Once they are alone, Aldo asks Rufus about why he is so obsessed with being a hero. Rufus decides to tell him his origin story and keeps Aldo up, long into the night.

Character Quest 2[edit]

Sought After Ancient Manuscripts

An incident unfolds right in front of Aldo and Rufus in Nilva. It seems heroes don’t get to take days off!

A lady approaches Aldo and Rufus in Nilva to tell them that synth humans have attacked her grandfather. They go to check on him and find out that the elderly man has been robbed of his rare and antique books.

They look for the Synth Humans in the Industrial Ruins and find one who reveals that they were trying to lure Rufus. He attacks them with bits, but Aldo and Rufus quickly defeat them. The Synth Human tells them the location of the books and the two decide to proceed, even though they suspect the location is a trap. They find and defeat another Synth-Human who keeps referring to Rufus as “the hero”. Aldo is confused, but Rufus brushes it off and retrieves the books.

Back in Nilva, they give the books to their owner. He thinks that the Synth Humans were interested in a story that recounts a single man saving his village from a beast attack with his fists wreathed in flames. Rufus realizes that it is The Blazing Defender that inspired him to be a hero and resolves to go down in history for his fight against the Synth Humans.
