Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

Illegal Work

Rovella’s received a message from someone who wishes to remain anonymous. They want him to deliver something illegal...

On Route 99, Aldo and Rovella happen upon a Synth Human Search Bit. Instead of being hostile, the Search Bit held a coded message sent by one of Rovella’s associates. It offers a job for Rovella and asks to meet in the Industrial Ruins.

Now in the Industrial Ruins, Aldo and Rovella meet a Synth Human woman named Jill. She is the one who sent the Search Bit. Jill presents another Synth Human and asks Rovella and Aldo to escort him to Elzion’s Gamma District. Rovella and Aldo ensure the route to Elzion is clear before escorting the Synth Human. Everything goes according to plan until the group gets ambushed by Synth Soldiers. The Synth Soldiers declare the escorted Synth Human a traitor and a battle commences. After the battle, the Synth Human explains that he escaped from his encampment because he wanted to live among humans. The Synth Soldiers chased him down for his betrayal.

As they approach the gates of Elzion’s Gamma District, Rovella hands his escorted Synth Human a fake ID card. Rovella had to bribe someone in Elzion’s Central Processing Hall to create it. In response to Aldo’s disapproval of the bribery, Rovella justifies his actions by explaining that it was simpler to get his hands dirty. In order for Synth Humans like Jill to live a hidden life amongst humans, people like him are needed. They watch the Synth Human enter Elzion and the two return to Jill for their reward. Rovella drinks an energy drink. According to him, he always does after a long day’s work.

Character Quest 2[edit]

The Darkness of Elzion

An illegal system that damages humans is spreading in Elzion. However, there are some who are fighting it.

Suddenly, in the Gamma District of Elzion, Aldo is surrounded by shady men. They have a job for Rovella. After intervening, Rovella turns them down, until one of the men then responds with the phrase “Cat and Mouse”.

Upon meeting the men at the airport Rovella reveals that the men who hired them are a part of Elzion's army. The phrase “Cat and Mouse” is code for a clean-up operation used among the troops. The army man wants Rovella to hunt down the source of “V-Sense,” an illegal system that infected and weakened Elzion’s army.

Rovella starts this job by looking for a man in the Gamma District’s tavern. The man in question, called “Know-It-All,” is an informant Rovella accuses to be the one behind the spread of V-Sense. In the past, he paid Rovella to deliver V-Sense in the city. Rovella believes Know-It-All knows who spread V-Sense. Know-It-All refuses to tell Rovella, so he asks Aldo to leave the tavern. Rovella kills Know-It-All after Aldo leaves.

Rovella returns to Aldo and lies to him, telling him that Know-It-All revealed everything about the scheme behind V-Sense, and arranged a meeting for them to meet the one behind the spread. He then claims that he paid Know-It-All to take cover until the situation is over.

The two head to the Industrial Ruins, and Rovella calls out to the man called “Manager,” the one who created V-Sense. The Manager was a Synth Human in disguise. A battle commences, and once finished, Rovella claims that he and Aldo have removed the source of the spread.

After receiving the reward for investigating V-Sense, Aldo believes that Rovella was not purely motivated by money. When he realized people were suffering when he delivered the V-Sense, Rovella took it upon himself to look behind it. Rovella, surprised, insists that Aldo is wrong and takes an energy drink. Aldo brushes the denial off with a laugh. “Sure. If you say so,” he says. “But I bet that drink is especially satisfying today.”
