Story[edit]

Quest 1: Do You Enjoy Unrequited Love?[edit]

There’s a man stricken with an unrequired love. He’s in love with a woman out of his league. Is there a way they could be together?

A lady in Elzion tells Aldo and Pom about a friend of hers, an engineer, who has his eye on a girl he simply has no chance with. Pom is interested in researching it more, so she and Aldo go to find him at the tavern. He tells them that the object of his love is the granddaughter of a rich man who he believes is out of his league.

Pom is ecstatic about his feelings of longing and inner conflict and resolves to help him. She takes a single hair out of his head and has Aldo take her to the Moonlight Forest to get essence from a gentia, needing it to make a love potion.

Although reluctantly, Aldo complies, but quickly regrets it once Pom tries to force him to drink her experimental potion to see if he falls in love with her. Since he refuses to do it, Pom yanks one of Aldo’s hair and drinks the potion herself. It works, as Pom seems to be infatuated with Aldo, so he rushes her to get back to Elzion.

Pom gives the potion to the rich man’s granddaughter, claiming that it is an immunity supplement for an infection going around among young people. Aldo tries to stop her, thinking it unethical, but she reveals that the potion’s effect only lasts a day. Aldo agrees to let her do it, but the young lady gives some of the potion to her grandfather, since she thinks that it will boost his immune system.

When Aldo and Pom go to see the engineer, he tells them that the girl’s grandfather has asked to see him. He appears soon after and asks the engineer out on a date. Aldo is worried about it, but Pom tells him not to be so close-minded. However, the elderly man reveals that he was only kidding and calls his granddaughter. Apparently, she was already interested in the engineer, but her grandfather was against it until recently.

As the elderly man has given his blessing to his granddaughter and the engineer, Pom reveals that her potion didn’t work on the girl, because she already had feelings for the man, but also failed on her grandfather, as he didn’t fall madly in love with him as well.

Quest 2: Do You Enjoy Melancholic Love?[edit]

There’s a pair of lovers whose families are at war. Left unchecked, the couple may not be able to stay together…

A lady in Unigan tells Aldo and Pom about a friend of hers’ daughter, who is being kept from her lover, because their family are at war. Pom wants to help her, so she and Aldo go find the couple secretly meeting at the tavern. The two lovers, Kalyl and Imelda, want to run away, but Imelda is worried that they will get caught due to her father’s connections with the royal family.

Pom offers her help and tells them a secret plan, not letting Aldo in on it. Aldo and Pom then get the ingredients for a potion at the Rucyana Sands and Pom starts making it immediately. When Aldo starts feeling thirsty, she offers him some of her water, but actually gives him the potion, which makes him lose consciousness. When he wakes up, Pom reveals that she had Aldo try her potion that simulates a state of death for a whole day, much to his horror.

Back in Unigan, Kalyl and Imelda drink Pom’s potion with Aldo’s assurance that they will be fine. Their respective mother and father blame each other for their children’s death, but Pom tells them that they died because of their quarrel. She offers them a potion to revive them as long as they swear to stop opposing their children’s wedding and they agree.

Aldo is glad that his death served its purpose and Pom tells him that she gave Kalyl and Imelda another dose of her potion in case their parents start quarreling again so that they can fake their death and elope.
