Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

The Trainee Guard's Job

Nomar and company have been asked to rid the Karek Swampland of beasts by the Baruoki merchant. Coming from a familiar face, he took the job…

A merchant in Baruoki asks Aldo to defeat a monster on the Karek Swampland for him, since his daughter is coming home from Unigan. Since Nomar has known her since before he even met Aldo, he decides to go with him to take care of the monster and then escort her home.

They defeat the monster together, despite Nomar’s inexperience, and go meet the merchant’s daughter in Unigan. She is surprised that Nomar has joined the Baruoki Guard and bluntly tells him that a weakling like him could never cut it in a job this tough. Aldo then cuts the conversation short and they get back to home.

Once in Baruoki, Nomar confirms his commitment to be a guardsman and the merchant’s daughter quietly accepts it.

Character Quest 2[edit]

Nomar's Courage

The merchant’s daughter has asked you to find the materials she needs to make a new product…

In Baruoki, the merchant’s daughter asks Aldo and Nomar to escort her while she gets some lunar grass that grows in Moonlight Forest. The merchant's daughter wants to trade it in Unigan with Prisma found in Zarbo. Nomar is reluctant to escort her into a dangerous place, but Aldo tells him that he cannot pick and choose his requests.

Since they cannot find lunar grass at the forest’s entrance, they go deeper in, much to Nomar’s reluctance. A monster appears behind the merchant’s daughter and Nomar quickly rushes in her defense. With Aldo, he takes it out.

After the fight, Nomar admits that he was terrified, worrying the merchant’s daughter, who questions why he joined the Baruoki Guard. He admits that at first he joined because he wanted to be more like Aldo, but later stayed to become the kind of man who can protect the ones he cares about. Aldo confirms that Nomar is a model recruit and his background in mining was helpful to the guard.

Accepting their answer, the merchant’s daughter collects the lunar grass and, upon their insistence, lets the two escort her to Unigan, where she admits that seeing how hard they work has inspired her to work harder too.
