Introduction Dialog[edit]

I’m Miranda, the Pirate Queen of the North. The treasures of this world are mine for the taking! So, you’re traveling the world, huh? You must know a thing or two about where the best treasure is. What do you say we get going? Search hard, plunder hard, then party hard after!

Character Traits[edit]

A pirate from the North, Miranda hunts for treasure with disregard for honor, much to Aldo's dismay.

Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

The Carousing Pirates

Miranda is on the lookout for clues about her lost treasure. She seems to be wandering around Rinde looking for information.

Aldo and Miranda take a walk in the port town of Rinde. Miranda asks Aldo if there’s any treasure to be found nearby-- other than the riddle “The King of Skulls sits atop a mountain of swords,” she has no other information to figure out the treasure’s location. Aldo suggests that they stop by the tavern for some intel. Miranda is excited for the food and drink.

At the tavern, the barkeep refers Miranda and Aldo to a Merchant who might know something about the treasure Miranda’s after. The Merchant would only tell them for a price. Instead of paying a high price, Miranda challenges the Merchant to an eating contest. Mirana wins, leaving the Merchant on the brink of a food coma. Miranda and Aldo leave in search of medicine to treat the Merchant.

Miranda and Aldo ask a local man about treating indigestion. He refers the two to a Healer, who is out of a special ingredient found in the Karek Swampland. After defeating several swamp monsters, Aldo and Miranda return to the Healer with the ingredient. The Healer creates the medicine, and Aldo and Miranda return to the Merchant at once. After taking the medicine the Merchant reveals that, to find the treasure, they must find its map. Aldo doubts the supposed map’s credibility.

Miranda won’t be swayed from her goal. She is hunting this treasure in the name of her father, who had died long ago at a stormy sea. In celebration of learning new information about the treasure, Miranda proposes a feast.

Character Quest 2[edit]

Pirates and Bandits

Bandits have been terrorizing the area around the Royal City. Miranda, mistaken for one of the Bandits, has been taken in for questioning...

In Unigan, Miranda and Aldo are questioned by a Unigan guard. He tells the two that recently, bandits were breaking into people’s homes. Because Miranda is a pirate, the Guard threatens to detain her. Aldo then negotiates Miranda’s release: if they stop whoever is behind the break-ins, she can go free. The guard agrees.

Miranda and Aldo ask the victims of the break-ins for more information. They encounter a girl, who discovered a pair of claws at the scene of the crime. When asked if she would compensate for the lost goods, Miranda says that she won’t, much to Aldo’s disagreement. Then, a youth walks in on their conversation and runs at the sight of the claws. With their suspicions raised, Miranda and Aldo chase the youth into Karek Swampland.

After being cornered by Aldo and Miranda, the youth admits that he ran away because he had mistaken Miranda for a bandit. After a little discussion, he reveals that he was attacked at Nuaru Uplands. The two head there.

Aldo and Miranda then encounter a bandit with a monster, whose claws match the ones that were left at the girl’s home. The bandit sends out the monster to attack. Declaring to clear her name, Miranda fights. The Bandit leaves behind the stolen goods which Aldo forbade Miranda from taking.

They return the goods to the Unigan guard. After the guard leaves, Miranda reveals that she had stolen a stone tablet, bearing a map and a relief of the text, “King of Skulls sits atop a mountain of swords.” Aldo lets the incident of theft go-- “There’s just no reforming you, is there?” he says.
