Character Quest 1[edit]
The Value of Information
Lingli is searching for her father. Whilst leisurely looking in the Karek Swampland, she comes across someone from her past.
Aldo and Lingli, lacking information about Lingli’s father, encounter a man. He is called the “Ringmaster,” a man who ran the circus Lingli briefly travelled with. Sympathetic to Lingli’s quest, he informs the two of an expensive information broker in Rinde. He might have information on the whereabouts of Lingli’s father.
In Rinde, the information broker offers information about Lingli’s father in exchange for fifty million Git. Instead, Lingli offers her life. The information broker accepts, and has Lingli take care of Serena Coast monsters that were bothering one of his clients. In return, the information broker will lower the price.
In Serena Coast, the two battle and return to the information broker. The information broker reveals that yes, Lingli’s father was spotted, but nothing is certain. The information broker promises to find more.

Lingli has moved the heart of an information broker. While waiting for information about her father, Aldo and Lingli take a short break...
In Unigan, Aldo finds Lingli training with a stuffed cat. She’s training her powers of concentration by staring at the toy (who, according to her, looks like her father) for as long as possible. After a quick chat with Aldo, Lingli admits that the toy is looking rather worn. Lingli cannot repair the toy using normal thread; the toy is stuffed with iron. Normal thread would break. While waiting for new information from the information broker, Aldo suggests that they use magic-fused cobwebs from the Moonlight forest to repair it.
After Lingli grabs a few strands of cobweb-thread, the two encounter a monster. Lingli patches up the toy after the battle ends. Inside, she discovers a note from her father. “If anything should happen to me,” he writes, “contact Lakhesis the knight in Miglance Castle.”
In Miglance Castle, Lakhesis admits that though he cannot help, he has something her father wanted to give her. If Lingli was able to defeat a Sturdy Lizzy, she would receive it. After defeating it, Lingli receives a notebook about her father’s fighting technique. Though it does not have any pointers to where her father is, Lingli takes the notebook as a sign that her father had recognized how strong she grew up to be.
