Profile[edit]

Noteable Accessories[edit]

Flammelapis, hailing from a thousand years before 300 AD, carries with her a younger version of Ogre Rancorem ("Oggy"). Its personality, while still dark, is less so than Aldo's present-day Ogre Rancorem.

Story[edit]

"NO LONGER LONELY"

Carrying her gigantic sword, Ogre Rancorem, Flammelapis arrives in the village of Baruoki in the year 300. The sword recommended stopping there as the last stop on their journey (Flammelapis considers retiring there). Aldo returns from getting his sword sharpened, and he correctly speculates that Flammelapis and her Ogre Rancorem arrived in this world from another timeline, explaining how there could be two of the same sword at once. Aldo’s Ogre Rancorem recognizes Flammelapis from Aldo’s timeline, saying she was its owner “several generations ago.” Flammelapis insists Aldo call her “Flamme,” as they are friends; she calls her Old Ogre Rancorem “Oggy,” astounding Aldo.

Flammelapis tells Aldo that she’s half-titan on her father’s side. Her mother being a human, she’s not as skilled as full-titans at sensing her “energy net.” She feels a force “pulling” on it - in this case, strong emotions - so she dashes off to the Karek Swamplands. There, she saves a young woman being attacked by a monster. The woman - she sells herbs in Unigan - has horns, and seems divided about how to live among both beasts and men when she has the qualities of both. Flammelapis tells her that she was considered odd when she was younger, due to her half-titan lineage, but that things got better when she reached adulthood. Back in the city, Flammelapis and Aldo witness the horned woman’s buyer, a merchant, berate her for being late and then mock her human father for mating with a female beast and then (he claims) “crawls into a bottle to escape his shame.” He goes on to effectively fire her due to her not being able to fend for herself, and for brining “hoodlums” to harass him.

The horned woman runs away to the Serena Coast, known to be yet another dangerous place infested with monsters. There, they don’t find the woman, but Flammelapis literally bumps into Lokido. He uses his excellent sense of smell to point the two in her direction. Meanwhile, the woman is attacked by a beast. After seeing her horns, she is momentarily hopeful that she’ll be safe - but the beast finds her a hybrid and a blemish on beast-kind. Before he can strike her down, Flammelapis arrives and defeats him. (Oggy suggests killing the beast, but Flammelapis refuses, saying everyone is a child of the “Mother Goddess” and that killing someone should only be a last resort.) After cheering up the horned woman and Flammelapis - being a priestess - casting a “good luck charm” on her, they head back to Unigan.

The merchant meets them at the gates; he has changed his tune. He revealed that he was actually only worried about the horned woman getting hurt, and fired her as a way of keeping her safe. He went on to say that while he despised her father for getting drunk (and apparently dying!), leaving her to fend for herself, he shouldn’t have spoken about him in such a way in front of her. He invites her to work for him again, but this time as a medicine-maker.

Flammelapis reveals to Aldo that she is from 1,000 years in the past. She also notes that her sword’s personality is somewhat different from present-day Ogre Rancorem. Aldo’s sword, thinking to itself, says that it had hoped that it would never meet Flammelapis again.
