Profile[edit]

Introduction Dialog[edit]

Hi, I’m Bivette. And this little kitty is Rumino. Every mage needs a familiar, right? It’s only a matter of time before I become the greatest mage who ever lived. I’m a genius! Uh… I’ guess that’s not too convincing, but just take my word for it, ‘kay?

Bio[edit]

The latest recipient and user of an ancient magic power. Though she has the ability to draw on this ancient magic, to the people around her she just looks like a bit of an unusual young girl. Her cat Rumino is one of her best friends.

Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

The Catnapping

Bivette’s cat-loving grannie lives in Baruoki. It seems her beloved cat has been catnapped.

In Baruoki, Bivette’s cat-loving grannie friend asks for her help, as her kitty has been catnapped and she has received a ransom letter demanding she takes her red crystals to Nuaru Uplands. While Bivette wants to charge in, Aldo suggests a more cautious approach and bring the red crystals, which can be found in Moonlight Forest according to the grannie.

Rumino finds some red crystals and they come up with a plan not to let the catnapper escape with them: Bivette actually does a spell, although Aldo isn’t aware of what she actually did.

They meet the catnapper, who, as expected, runs away without releasing the kitty after getting the red crystals. They chase him and are confronted by the catnapper’s monsters.

After defeating them, the unapologetic catnapper lets the kitty free and Bivette lets him keep the red crystals, surprising Aldo. As a matter of fact, the catnapper is chased by monsters as soon as he leaves, and Bivette reveals that she put a spell on the red crystals and monsters will chase him for as long as hold on to them.

After reuniting the grannie with her kitty, Aldo and Bivette comment that cats are more like family than just pets.

Character Quest 2[edit]

The Memory Lamp

Bivette’s childhood friend is getting married soon. She wants to give her a lamp which holds a lot of sentimental value as a wedding present.

Bivette spots her childhood friend Mirina in Unigan and is surprised to find out that she is getting married. She shows Bivette the old lamp they used to play with growing up, and Bivette resolves to help her repair and polish it as a wedding gift. As Bivette and Aldo leave, someone recognizes Bivette’s voice and appears to hold a grudge against her.

The two go get polishing sand in Rucyana Sands, as Rumino helps them find it. Bivette explains that the lamp is called the Spirit Lamp, because it is inhabited with spirits she and Mirina used to play with when they were younger. As Bivette and Aldo leave, the mysterious voice is even more determined to get revenge on Bivette.

Bivette, Aldo, the lamp artisan in Baruoki to have him polish the lamp. As soon as he starts, however, he feels a pain in his heart and suddenly a monster appears. He wants to get revenge on Bivette and Mirina, who actually thought that they were friends… Their games were torture for him, but they didn’t realize that as they were just kids. The monster attacks and Aldo reluctantly helps Bivette, as Baruoki may be caught in the middle of her nonsense. Indeed, Aldo comments that as someone not evil Bivette sure causes a lot of problems. With the spirit gone, the artisan polishes the lamp.

Bivette and Aldo take the lamp to Mirina and tell her about the spirit. She happily leaves with the polished lamp, as Aldo worries about Bivette possibly having more “friends” wanting to get revenge on her, but she doesn’t remember clearly, as it has been a long time.

Flare Witch Quest[edit]

Contemplating the ocean in the Last Island, Bivette wants to make Rumino swim, but he runs away, making her believe that he wants to be chased, exasperating Aldo, who has no choice but to follow them.

Rumino runs into the Spurr-ace Colony, so Bivette transforms into a kitty-cat and goes after him, thinking that he wants to play hide-and-seek.

She meets Syrup, who first invites her for tea, but then accuses her of trampling upon the heart of King Rumino and being the enemy of all cat-kind once she introduces herself. She denies the accusations, proclaiming to be Rumino’s friend and partner. Syrup tells her that the opposite is true and Rumino appears to agree with him and leave again. Syrup thus calls the Parfait Squad to kick her out!

Outside, Bivette catches Aldo up with what happened and he finally tells her that her way of pampering cats is totally wrong and that she must become a Cat Madame!

Aldo takes Bivette to see the cats in the island to learn more about them. Bivette learns that cats: don’t like having their tails pulled or being held too tightly when they nap; don’t eat super hot rice porridge with milk, but dried sardines; and hate getting wet, but do enjoy playing in the sand.

Now that she has learnt how mistaken she was, Bivette wants to go get Rumino and the cats that helped her understand her errors join her. Before she goes, Aldo suggests she speaks deeply and honestly with Rumino.

Syrup flashes back to meeting him and noticing that his bite power was abnormal and propositioning something to him. He then asks Rumino for permission to take care of Bivette for him, as he enjoys dried sardines and Candy’s company, the cat he is bound to wed.

Bivette and her cat friends make their way towards Rumino, but she is defeated by Syrup and his Parfait Squad. Bivette’s spell breaks and she turns back into a human, scary all of the cats but Syrup away.

Bivette proceeds as a human and learns more about cats in the colony study. She then finds a letter written from the colony’s cats’ master to his cats, and understands that she needs to apologize to Rumino for always putting herself first.

As her magic has charged, Bivette turns back into a cat and finally finds Rumino. She beats him in the dried sardines challenge and wins the chance to speak to him. She apologizes and asks him to go back with her, but Rumino runs away again.

She is attacked by Syrup and the Parfait Squad, but her friends, who had run away when she had turned back into a human, come back to save her, and together they manage to win the battle.

Bivette finds Rumino again and tells him that she respects his choice to become King and marry Candy. As Bivette leaves, Syrup flashes back to his proposition to Rumino: to become their king in order to teach Bivette a lesson. Syrup then encourages Rumino to make up with her, so he leaves after saying goodbye to Candy, who tells him that he is welcome to visit them anytime.

Outside, Bivette catches Aldo up with what happened and is fine with her decision as long as Rumino is happy. They hear a cat cry and go save a cat from a monster. Bivette messes her spell up, but is saved by Rumino, as Aldo takes care of the monster.

Finally, Rumino shows to Bivette that he wants to keep being her partner, but she may start overcompensating, upsetting him again when she says that she will be calling him King Rumino from now on.

Character Quest 3[edit]

Call My Name

Bivette was delighted after attending the wedding ceremony of her childhood friend, Mirina. Yet, someone still has to settle the debt from a little old mischief.

As Bivette and Rumino come back from Mirina’s wedding in Unigan, Aldo is happy that they are back to being partners. Since Bivette claims to be changed, Aldo pushes her to make amends with the spirit trapped in the lamp and she decides to go to Rinde, where she used to live, to jog her memory.

Bivette takes Aldo to a hidden house in Rinde where she used to live with Mirina. Hearing them inside, Mirina joins them and reveals that they did indeed trap their friends inside the lamp and forgot about them. She adds that they did treat them more like toys rather than friends, and that is why she has been releasing them as she remembered them. Apparently, they only laughed around Mirina, but have a grudge against Bivette.

Bivette proceeds to release a water spirit, which is actually a monster that she and Aldo are forced to chase away. She thus releases the fire spirit, who is revealed to indeed be a time-displayed minimander that Bivette offers to take back to Antiquity as an apology.

In Ratle, however, the minimander confesses his anger and goes to get Salamander’s help to get his revenge. Aldo and Bivette decide to go find him in Nadara Volcano.

They find him calling Salamander, but Aldo reveals that he is dead. Therefore, they decide to take him to Purgatory to reunite him with his Lord, and he finally forgives Bivette for her past actions.

Back in Bivette’s Rinde house, Bivette is happy that they have released all of her friends, until she hears a voice: it is the minimander from Antiquity thanking her after so many years.

As Aldo questions her about whether she truly heard the spirits’ voices when she was a child, Bivette assures him that she did, being a genius sorcerer!
