Character Quests[edit]

Quest 1: Repeating the Year?[edit]

A student calls for Mighty to attend a make up exam at the airport, for the sake of his graduation. Mighty has completely missed this notice, since he was sleeping in class as usual; he nearly abandons it anyway, but Aldo convinces him to attend. As the first question, Mighty is instructed to find the weapons shop with a Synth human hunter. The student examiner at the weapon shop rants about Mighty getting special treatment when he's clearly not making an effort; then she begrudgingly points him towards "a currently unused route". The same student is waiting at Route 99, making Mighty fight a drone as the next part of the exam. She is amazed when Mighty defeats the drone, which was designed for the teachers, with no real effort; she admits that she was jealous and overly harsh to Mighty. Mighty encourages her to develop on her own time. Having passed the exam, Mighty is now allowed to graduate. The other student unexpectedly comes to congratulate him, but storms out again when learning that Mighty is sleepy all the time because he goes out at night. Having sorted out this issue, Mighty falls asleep on the spot.

Quest 2: The Black Cat Nightmare[edit]

Mighty and Aldo meet a hissing cat on the streets of Elzion. As the cat runs away, they hear an old lady crying out for her missing darling cat, who had run off on her. Aldo and Mighty follow a trail of witnesses, who all said the cat seemed scared, and find the cat asleep in the airport. Mighty approaches it, and there is a shift in the air. The cat starts to speak, the old lady shows up, and turns into a synth human!

After the synth human is defeated, Mighty has a chat with the cat. The cat claims that her owner has gotten scary recently, and Mighty assures her that all will be normal again. Mighty then uses his powers as a Nightmare Hunter again to pull himself and Aldo out of the cat's dream, and the three return to the old lady.

The old lady explains that she is no longer able to take care of the cat; feeling that she has been spoiled and fearing her for her relation with her new owner, the old lady has recently started disciplining the cat. Mighty advises her to enjoy her remaining time with the cat instead. Afterwards, Mighty admits that he is jealous of cats, who can sleep whenever they want.

Quest 3: The Demon in Your Nightmare[edit]

Mighty receives a note that tells him one of his regular jobs has started ahead of schedule; he invites Aldo to accompany him.

Aldo's role in this job is apparently to sleep in a hotel. He dreams of Baruoki, and a suspicious little girl asking for help against 'scary people' . When Aldo agrees, she giggles and states cryptically:"two more to go." He has completely forgotten the dream by morning. Mighty still refuses to explain, instead asking Aldo to remember his name.

They sleep at Laula dome the second night. This time, Aldo dreams of Ratle. The little girl appears again, telling Aldo that he bought her time. Aldo hears a voice asking him to call their name, but he cannot remember. The girl asks to meet one more time.

Mighty takes them to Nilva for the third night, but Aldo falls asleep on the street and finds himself in a dream of Moonlight Forest. The girl asks him to fight a beast, but the voice warns him not to trust her and call its name instead. It then yawns. Aldo finally remembers Mighty's name. Mighty says the beast is a Nightmare spirit and the two kill it.

Mighty explains that Nightmare spirits attach themselves to dreamers and can take their souls after three consecutive visits; they are attracted to hotels where many people sleep, and Mighty regularly comes around to clear them out.

Quest AS: Markedly Meditative Mighty[edit]

For once, Mighty decides to go to class. Aldo, curious, joins him. Halfway through the school building, they find a girl sleeping on her feet; believing it to be caused by a Nightmare, Mighty drags her to the infirmary and enters her dream.

In her dreams, a Nightmare in the form of a professor is lecturing her about preparing for the real world. However, defeating it did not make her wake up. After inspection, it seems the whole school is asleep. Mighty identifies the culprit as a Ririto, a special Nightmare that can possess many dreams at once. Mighty and Aldo find the Ririto in the students' dreams, trying to demoralize them; beating it didn't wake anyone either.

Finally, they confront it in the dream of the professor, where it has been busy describing the futility of being a teacher. Mighty manages to convince the professor otherwise, prying the Nightmare loose from the dreamers and enabling he and Aldo to finally banish it. The dreamers wake with no memory of the dream; Mighty gets marked as late and cheerfully joins the class.
