Story[edit]

Character Quest 1[edit]

Smokes's Up!

While walking around the streets of the future, Dewey and Aldo find themselves in a complicated situation…

Aldo and Dewey see an elder bump into an elegant man in front of a clothing store in Elzion. The man in the suit demands the old man finds a way to compensate him for ruining his best suit, but Dewey steps up and scares him away with his mist gun.

Aldo and Dewey head to the entrance gate to check on the old man, who was waiting for his granddaughter. She reveals that she went to talk to the EGPD about feeling watched by someone at home, but they didn’t take her seriously. After Aldo offers to help her with her problem, Dewey notes how Aldo really cares about strangers, while Dewey had only intervened due to the suited guy getting on his nerves.

The elderly man has bought everything needed for a stakeout and the group enters the girl’s home, which is separate from her grandpa’s. Aldo and Dewey see a lost drone and follow it to Route 99, where they catch it and find out that it stores all pictures of the elderly man. An elderly woman appears and reveals herself as the drone’s owner, wanting to check on him while being afraid to confess her feelings to him due to their age. Dewey encourages her that age doesn’t matter and to come clean.

The elderly woman confesses to everything she has done and the man decides not to press charges, but to have her help him manage the dormitory with him in the surveillance room.

It is also revealed that the man is not the girl’s grandpa, but the kind manager for her company’s women-only dorm. All of the girls in the dorm then show up to thank Dewey in person for helping their grandpa, much to his great embarrassment.

Character Quest 2[edit]

First Love

Dewey and the others notice an alarming news bulletin in Elzion. Sounds like something scary is going on…

Aldo and Dewey hear a news bulletin announcing the discovery of a comatose man with signs of injections on his body at Elzion Airport and go check it out. On their way, they run into three synth humans attacking a nurse and two doctors from the ElziMed Hospitals. Dewey shoots one of the synth humans down, but the other two escape.

As the two doctors leave to report the involvement of synth humans, Dewey recognizes the nurse as the one who used to take care of him when he was a patient at ElziMed. They reconnect and Dewey seems to have a bit of a crush on her. Aldo and Dewey decide to escort her back to the hospital, as she also recognizes Aldo as the one who defeated Gilliard.

At the hospital, the doctors informs Aldo and Dewey that a toxin was directly administered into the patient’s bodies or made to inhale it. Among the patients, there is also the nurse’s special someone and Dewey vows to help the doctor make the antitoxin by finding out what the toxin is made of.

Aldo and Dewey thus head to the Industrial Ruins, despite the nurse’s concern. They find the two synth humans who had previously run away and acquire a vial of toxin material after a battle. Before they can head back, Professor Zekir appears, but they decide to postpone all talks for later.

On their way back to the hospital, Dewey asks Zekir if his ambitions are the same of Midnight Zekir, but they are interrupted by the nurse. Professor Zekir further postpones his answer, but gives Dewey an anti-toxin that he just made and leaves. Before heading back, the nurse tells Dewey that she loves him and asks him if he remembers what she told him the day of his discharge. When he answers that with his life comes great responsibility, she apologizes for bringing it up and.

At the hospital, the doctor is astonished by the anti-toxin as all of the comatose patients wake up. The man that the nurse was watching over also wakes up and it is revealed that he is the nurse’s fiancée. She explains that she has a thing for older man, much to Dewey’s disappointment. He quickly recollects himself to make the man promise that he will treat the nurse right.

Back in Elzion, Aldo treats Dewey to whatever he wants at the tavern, as he bids goodbye to his first love.

In Route 99, Zekir is glad that Aldo’s and Dewey’s involvement saved him a lot of trouble with the synth human’s rampage that almost made him call off his nanomachine experiments. He further states that it is time for Dewey to know his fate as his perfect specimen.

Character Quest 3[edit]

What's the Probability of That!

Dewey and Aldo see someone they don’t usually see. It seems concern for the Professor has brought him to Elzion.

Aldo and Dewey are surprised to meet the Administrator on a walk around Elzion. He inquires about Zekir, who has not renewed his citizen ID and has been counted as a missing person for quite some time.

The Administrator further explains that there were once seven research institutions under the KMS umbrella working on exploring the possibilities of the human body. Among those labs, one burned to the ground, another was destroyed in an incident involving the personnel, and the other were forced to close down for some reason or the other. Zekir basically went missing when his lab burned down.

Zekir appears as soon as the Administrator leaves. Dewey asks him again how similar or dissimilar he is to his counterpart. Zekir deduces that Dewey wants to know about his research and asks him go visit a girl with him.

Aldo and Dewey follow Zekir to a house in Theta District, where they meet the parents of a girl whose tumor are making her arms and legs numb. They figure out that Dewey is the miracle child who was cured from the tumor by Zekir, who asks for his assistance. The father brings the girl out and everyone heads to Xeno-Domain for her treatment.

Zekir extracts one of Dewey’s nanomachines and implants it on the girl, but the experiment fails after seemingly succeeding at the beginning. Zekir explains that there was 1 possibility out of 2000 for the experiment to be successful and that Dewey was actually his only success. Using Dewey’s nanotech had actually increased the girl’s survival rate to 1 in 400.

When Zekir tries to take the girl to study why the nanomachines didn’t bond with her, Aldo tries to stop him, so he traps him in a barrier. Dewey tries to use his mist gun on Zekir, but his nanomachines cannot attack him. Zekir thus escapes, as Dewey finally understands what the nurse meant when she told him that his life came with great responsibility, seeing as to how many Zekir sacrificed to find a cure for him.

After some encouragement from Aldo, Dewey’s nanomachines react and he figures out that the girl is at the airport, where they catch up with Zekir, who refuses to listen to reason and has a nano enhanced life-form attack them. When Zekir summons more of these life-forms, Dewey is able to override Zekir’s control over his nanotech. The Professor is actually proud of Dewey and agrees to let the girl go, revealing that his only goal was to push Dewey to his limits and further develop his nanomachines.

After Zekir leaves again, Aldo and Dewey go save the girl, who wanted to donate her life to science and make her parents proud. As Dewey assures her that she was never a burden to her parents, their nanomachines call out to each other and they cure the girl. Apparently, Dewey’s growth affected the nanomachine inside of the girl as well.

Aldo and Dewey take the girl back to her parents. Dewey leaves in a hurry with the new resolve to use his power to help more people, while the little girl has develop an unspoken crush on him.
