The link in 4.2 “List of characters who can enable inflict pain and/or poison” is broken. It redirects to:

https://anothereden.wiki/index.php?title=Poison_and_Pain_setting/GuaranteedPP&action=edit&redlink=1

which is a deleted page without a redirect.

“4.2 Damage Dealer Characters Recommendations There are no strict guidelines on how to maximize damage - everything depends on the conditions involved in a particular fight - but there are some general rules of thumb:

It is recommended to use full Pain.png Pain and/or Poison.png Poison grasta if you can apply that status effect to the enemies. See ***List of characters who can enable inflict pain and/or poison***. You can mix and match the types if you can inflict both of them.”

Thank you for finding that. It happened b/c the page was moved without leaving a redirect. To fix, I implemented a redirect so that link on the grasta page works now without the latter even needing to be touched, b/c it is a nice phrasing that is easy to point to so we may want to keep using it in the future.

First of all:

the redesign of the Grasta page is great work!

But please check the tables of the detailed pages - the last columns of each Second row are nearly unreadable because of the dark grey, especially the blue color of the links is unreadable, but normal black color is hard to read as well. It would be nice if this could be optimized. :)) - this affects certain tables on other pages as well, so it would be nice to apply a solution everywhere.

Thanks and please keep up with that outstanding work!

Thanks! Do you have a suggestion for a different color that would work? On my Android phone in Firefox it shows up perfectly. Also I normally use dark mode, on both desktop and mobile, so I don't see any striping at all tbh, and when I do turn on light mode just to see what it looks like, it looks perfectly readable? But I don't have an iPhone so I can't see what you see.

In any case, if you need something changed site-wide (which sounds like it would help everyone using that similar access method, so yeah worth talking about), you may want to go to the wiki channel on discord and talk to an administrator there? Or perhaps one will see this and respond here.

The only other thing I could think of would be to turn off the striping effect only for this table, but that usually is designed to help people read across so I hesitate to go to that extreme (without compensating in other ways like draw borders or horizontal lines at least to provide separation). On the other hand, when I turn it off here just experimentally, there's actually so much wasted space between the rows that it significantly improves things to simplify in that manner - except then the Location field being too tall and not aligned properly in the middle with the table gets confusing. In any case, I will look into it, but again if you wanted something changed for the entire site, that's a whole other thing, and you'll need to get an administrator's attention for something like that.

Addition: this happens if you use a smartphone (for example iPhone 6s) in normal vertical mode - for larger tables in horizontal mode as well.

I like vertical mode better as it offers more lines and therefore better overview which makes me understand things better.

It would be nice if a smartphone user can use the tables conveniently as described as well

Voiddp and I were just discussing this on reddit - they provided an excellent suggestion to improve readability by not trying to use the tables standard out of the box like this, but rather wrap things specially inside div statements, like the character skills. So yes, I do hope that improvement can come soon:-).

Pages where template include size is exceeded

I confirmed that the reason the VC Grastas are not showing up is b/c of exceeding the size limitation. If you strip out other components of the page, you can see that it shows up perfectly. Like https://anothereden.wiki/w/Tome_Location_List and others before this, it has just gotten far too big!!:-)

I will probably attempt to fix this myself if someone doesn't beat me to it, though in the meantime I just wanted people to be aware of this.

the idea is - if its row template that repeats itself a lof of times on page inside queries, dont put a lot of repeating subtemplates or logics inside row template. Cause it will repeat and multiply.

OpenStars (talkcontribs)

Indeed - and some of that bloat we can cut back significantly and immediately, which would delay the issue for awhile, although like the case with Tomes, if people actually like the capabilities that having it offers, especially the ease of filtering and searching, then we may want to switch over to leave room for that plus also future expansion.

Right now the searching is becoming significantly more functional - almost anything you see written down, you can start typing in the box and see more of the same. The exceptions atm are stats (though I plan to add those too - e.g. someone could type "LCK +" and see what happens), and Type (Attack/Life/Support/VC - that one I don't plan to add since it's broken up into those tabs anyway), but like you can start typing "amnesia" or "fire" or "fists", even "shareable", rather than use the clickable button interfaces. That may even help with translation issues from a language other than English.

But that does require repeating information - e.g. neither Power of Inferno nor Power of the Blaze nor Flame Crush contain the word "fire", and to find things from Zami requires yet another column's info, and e.g. crit rate could be a primary effect or an addition via dormant ore awakening. Theoretically we could have different search boxes for different fields, but it is nice to have it all in one like this? I've looked and played around but could not found a way to get that search box to make use of multiple data-keys, or something else like apply the action to the entire row whenever text from any of the columns is matched, so my solution was to simply duplicate it all into that one data-key=name, even as the text is also there for display in the appropriate column.

As the set of grastas gets larger and larger, my thought was that the act of simply reading through them one by one - especially by a newer player!!!! - will become less and less viable over time, and thus the tools for searching & filtering them more and more crucial to dealing with that, thus justifying the additional overhead in return for the ease of use it provides. But maybe even this is too little too late - perhaps a different solution is needed entirely, something like the DataTables display used to show the cats, with that search bar? But it seemed like something should be done, b/c right now it's getting unwieldy.

It would be great if grasta descriptions would be linkable like weapons, armor and other objects.

For example „cat shrine pilgrimage rewards with a ton of different grasta and it would be nice to just being able to link them, so that it’s possible to look-up their description.

The information for low tier support grasta is misleading. The formatting leads users to believe they drop inside ancient AD, when they in fact drop from world mobs. Each zone/mob is a bullet point under the AD, should be separated. Suggest including zami femur rewards as part of the AD, not a bullet point.

Voiddp (talkcontribs)

it was just parser error about not formatting first row bullet point. fixed them to show equal levels
