At 60% HP or lower, the Stray Synth Soldier also summons a Secret Weapon, which will commence a countdown from 3. It's weak to Piercing and Fire attacks. When it reaches 0, the Secret Weapon self-destructs, inflicting massive damage on the party and debuffing their PWR, INT and SPD. However, if the party destroys the Secret Weapon before it finishes counting down, the Secret Weapon malfunctions and explodes, dealing damage to the Stray Synth Soldier instead.
Every five turns he will attempt to call in another Secret Weapon. If he's below 25% HP the Weapon's countdown starts from 1, threatening to blow up immediately.
