Reaction to Lightning Attacks - When a Thunder attack is performed on the boss:
  • Does nothing for the rest of that turn. (only triggers once until it discharges itself later)
  • Enters 'Lightning Engulf the whales body' state for 4 turns.
    • The boss will be restricted to a single action per the turn (Attacks only).
  • After 4 turn the boss will exit this state and unleash a Thunder attack on all enemies.

Where to find Ishmaelithan[edit]

To unlock this battle, you will need to enter the Deep-sea: East - Deeper Level with the Royal Decree Whelk.

Tips[edit]

  • Stack Thunder characters with multi-hit attacks, and AF to get the burst for damage. You don't need any Zone if you have a full Thunder team.
    • Skull's Thunder Crack gives him 6-8 hits in one go, before including Lunatic bonus hits.
    • Serge (using any Thunder element) with 8-10 Power Levels gets 4 hits off Sky Arrow.
  • Hitting the HP stopper will not reset the attack rotation, i.e. if you're at turn 3 on the rotation and you hit the stopper it will proceed to use its turn 4 attack next turn.
    • preferred order to clear this fight is: 1t: AF > 2t: recharge to 50%+ > 3t: AF
      • requires <No Stance> and 13-15 thunder hits in turn 2, with 3.5% per hit recharge (+0.5% Charge addons)
      • this way only 1 attack from boss happens in 2 turn: 1 physical attack and 1500 fixed pain, using -25%-30% PWR debuff inside 1t:AF is all defense needed to survive with any end game armor
      • if its done in some other order, as example with 1st turn setup, there probably will be a need to deal with confusion from turn3 attack that adds random to clear strategies.
