The Industrial Ruins is a dungeon found in the Future that serves as a base of operations for the Synth Humans. Given the area's connection to the Synth Humans, it is visited many times throughout the story. The first visit occurs during Chapter 4 where Aldo and the party travel to the Industrial Ruins to combat the Synth Humans.
Initially, the Industrial Ruins can only be reached by walking there from Route 99. Once they have been entered, the world map can be used to warp to the location instantly. After visiting the Former KMS HQ, the Industrial Ruins can also be entered from this location (by first traveling to Former KMS HQ via the world map), with this method providing much quicker access to the deeper areas of the Industrial Ruins when compared to the other two methods of entering the Industrial Ruins.
Walkthrough
Industrial Ruins Area A
Area A is an entirely linear pathway, with the entrance to the next area being found behind a door in the northwest. The area is filled with a variety of monitors and other technology in varying qualities of condition.
Industrial Ruins Area B
Area B features a similar environment to Area A while also being just as linear. A door leading to an elevator that heads up to the next area is in the northeast part of the room.
Two chests are located in this section of the ruins. One chest is guarded by a stationary Vengeful Soldier in the northwest section of the area. The horror may be too difficult to defeat during the initial visit to the Industrial Ruins during Chapter 4. The other chest is situated in the northeast corner of the room.
Industrial Ruins Upper Furnace
The Upper Furnace area consists of some raised platforms that are above the furnace. This zone is very simple to traverse; a short path to the west leads to an elevator that heads deeper into the Industrial Ruins. Initially, the elevator can only be taken up to the Sky Bridge. After reaching Chapter 2 of The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel, the elevator can be used to enter Industrial Ruins - Area Q.
Industrial Ruins Sky Bridge
This section of the Industrial Ruins consists of a very small room with no random encounters. It returns to the technology heavy background of Area A and Area B. The party can take a rest in a safe place in the middle of the room to restore all HP and MP. However, no lunchbox item will be provided by resting here.
Industrial Ruins Mid Furnace
The Mid Furnace is divided up into two sections. Upon initially entering this area from the Sky Bridge, the only option is to head west and climb down a ladder into the next area. A ladder climbing upward in the Lower Furnace is used to reach the second section. This area contains two chests, with one of them being guarded by a Vengeful Soldier that is patrolling the area.
Industrial Ruins Lower Furnace
There are two main paths to take in the Lower Furnace. Heading to the south will lead to a ladder that can be climbed up to reach the second area of the Mid Furnace. Meanwhile, traveling north will lead to an elevator that connects to the final section of the Industrial Ruins.
Industrial Ruins Area C
Area C is a small room that serves as the final room of the dungeon. Random encounters do not occur in this area. However, two boss fights take place in this location during the course of the story. During The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel, the Former KMS HQ is reached by traveling through the hole in the wall found in this area.

Notes[edit]
- The Vengeful Soldier located in Industrial Ruins Area B will not be present during the Melty Metal quest. This allows the chest it guards to be looted without having to defeat the enemy.
