Where to find Ice Jailer[edit]
Follow the map on the Kunlun Mountains (Hidden Path) page.
Tips[edit]
- Ice Jailer puts up a 20-hit damage barrier and a 20-hit ailment barrier every few turns. Unless you use a unit with an ailment-inflicting skill that has Barrier Piercing, such as Alma, turning on Power of Pain or Power of Poison grasta will be virtually impossible. You'll have to rely on other kinds of grasta to increase your damage.
- If you have a team that can pull it off, the best way to deal with Ice Jailer's powerful Water attacks is to use Another Force on the very first turn of the battle and bring it to its first HP stopper at 75% of its max HP. Once its HP reaches 75%, it stops using its Water attacks completely and only uses fixed damage attacks for the rest of the fight.
- Between 75% and 50% HP, Ice Jailer uses attacks that do a fixed 3000 damage. You'll need to be able to heal at least that much in a single turn.
- As with the fight against the Large White Lie Bug, you'll need to rely on multi-hit attacks to remove its barriers so you can damage it, and you'll also need to make good use of your Another Force because it will refresh its barriers every third turn as long as its HP is above 50%.
- Wind King Stance may or may not help; it does increase the damage dealt by Wind skills, but Wind skills that hit three or more times will fill the Another Force gauge faster and increase the combo percentage more when outside of a zone.
- Yuri and Curio are free units that have Wind attacks that are capable of hitting three or more times.
- Dunarith is a strong healer that also has a Wind skill that hits three times.
- The turns where it refreshes its defenses are essentially freebies to adjust your party or recuperate from its earlier attacks. Use them to set up your AF burst turns.
- After its third use of Infernal Loop, the attack becomes near-impossible to survive. The third phase at 50% HP can be rushed down before it ever uses Infernal Loop, giving you time to recharge and burst down the last of its HP at its final phase.
