Hismena/Lore

From Another Eden Wiki

Profile[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Hismena has a refined appearance, from her well kept blue hair to her outfit in general.

Her regular outfit (Brionac) consists of IDEA themes that has some liberties put into it like most of the IDEA characters in the game. She wears a skintight suit around her main outfit, with her shift dress has a main white color with aquamarine pins holding the dress in place. She also wears white arm sleaves and white heels that goes up to the knees. There is also a white cape with a blue interior and a golden pattern near the shoulders area. Inside the cape is another engraving design with a black and gold pattern.

Her Another Style outfit (Areadbhar) consists of a leotard with decorations in pink, much difference from the extremely white coloring of her previous outfit. The cape is replaced with a fluttering pink and blue. Hismena wears some armor with skintight arm sleaves. Her thighs are bare, but she wears knee high socks with decorations and white heels. To finish it off, Hismena wears a black neck collar while having her hair is tied in a ponytail with a bow-tie white ribbon.

The biggest thing to note is the Rose motif, which is universal in both her Another and Normal styles. Brionac has a blue rose while the Areadbhar has a white rose near her collar.

Personality[edit]

Being from a high-society upbringing, Hismena has a refined personality. She drinks tea to relax, always seems to be in a relaxed state and she finishes fights with a gracious motion. She does also have the ability to read situations quickly and make adjustments when necessary on plans. Her idle animation has her taking a deep breath and coming back to her natural posture.

However, that's moreso a front that she puts. The real Hismena tends to have a pretty dutiful and lively personality, as her introduction starts her off with exclaiming her confusion over why there hasn't been any dream world incidents after "Butterfly's City and Heaven's Cradle". There are times she does very impulsive things without thinking of her own safety, such as deciding to be a decoy for a dangerous situation or even deciding to make her own dream world to save everyone. This side of her is her main face in gaming, which garners almost worship from her peers in-game as "the Holy Knight of Blue Rose". Her love for gaming even becomes the sole catalyst in dragging Aldo into World of Mana (and, therefore, causing the events of IDA School Part 3).

Hismena tries to keep the gaming-side of her hidden frequently. She is noted to try to hide the fact that she was a famous player in gaming (having been famed in not one game but two massive games), but also being afraid of the fact that people would treat her for her upbringing more then her personality. She easily gets embarrassed when people recount her exploits in said games. This behavior has lead to her being back and forth in giving up on trying to be herself more times then not, resulting in even one incident with a friend that continuously remains in her mind.

Regardless, Hismena does dislike her position as an heir, to the point she wants to outright reject it.

Despite her issues with being the heir, Hismena still loves her father. Though, the overbearing nature of his protection does embarrass her a lot (especially when he calls her "Snookums"). She knows that he would do everything to spoiler her, and the drive to be her own person conflicts with his parental love. Still, both of the family members aren't at any odds in general, with her father fully supporting her at the end with her decision to use her experiences in IDEA to become a stronger heir for the Lunabright family.

Story[edit]

Before Meeting[edit]

Hismena's full name is Hismena Lunabright. She is the heir to the Lunabright family, one of the three houses who rules most of Elzion's high society in general. Due to this, her upbringing consisted of a lot of jealousy by branch families, who looked to her with envy and considered her as a sheltered princess. Alongside the fact that she overheard adults implying they shouldn't let their children beat the heir of the Lunabright Family, the stress has resulted in a withdrawal syndrome of sorts, where she would play games to try to detach herself from "Hismena the heir" to "Hismena the person".

After constant protection from her father, Hismena decided one day to join IDEA because of the ideals that IDEA hold: merits and ability over prestige. After continuous messes caused by the Lunabright family branch members, she decided that she would take over the Lunabright family and prove her worth. Her efforts earned her the title as "the best lancer in IDEA", being one of the top agents.

Though it is not mentioned when, Hismena meets Aldo either during the start of "Fruit of Guidance and the Digital Lost Child" or on the Crossroads of Time. Despite the fact that the "Fruit of Guidance and the Digital Lost Child" focuses on other characters, Hismena becomes a deuteragonist in the episode.

Character Story 1[edit]

Hismena's first story start off with Hismena asking a favor from Aldo. Aldo does mention that IDEA agents never seem to have rest in general, but Hismena clarifies that the matter does not involve IDEA at all entirely. Hismena mentions that "her old comrades", where Aldo asks if Hismena has had fighting experiences before she joined IDEA. Hismena does say she has had past fighting experiences and that something happened in between them. Aldo assumes that something has happened to them and that Hismena wants to help them, regardless of what happened in the past. After convincing Hismena to help her old comrades, Hismena puts under the condition that Aldo must come with her to the Gamma District.

At the Gamma District, Hismena and Aldo find the comrades, though Aldo gets confused over why Hismena doesn't instantly recognize them. Hismena mentions that everyone hid their identities and that this is the first time everyone is meeting without their identities. Aldo asks why everyone is meeting without hiding their identities, only for two of Hismena's comrades to ask if he is who they seek. Aldo is about to deny until Hismena says that Aldo is who they are seeking, confusing Aldo entirely. Hismena asks Aldo to go along with her, which Aldo accepts. The two hunters talk with Aldo, one of them roughly asking if Aldo can fight like how he is dressed, exclaiming he has seen hundreds fall. The two of the hunters mentions "him", and talks about the past with how they stuck as a team just because of a certain person in the past. After reminiscing in their past, the two leave, mentioning that they have to do "a job".

After the two leave, Aldo asks why Hismena is lying to her comrades. Hismena says that things aren't the same as before, saying that things can't be the same due to how she turned her back on them. Aldo asks if they would really be upset with Hismena over her decision, in which Hismena doesn't deny. The two leave for the bar where everyone else left.

Before going into the bar, Aldo asks about her comrades. Hismena clarifies that her comrades aren't hunters, which confuses Aldo. Before she can clarify more, something happens in the bar, making both of them rush in. Aldo sees a soldier from Unigan, a sentinel from Antiquity and the two previous hunters fighting a synth drone. The first two absolutely confuses Aldo, asking Hismena for an explanation. Aldo asks Hismena for an explanation, asking if she has been traveling in time beforehand. Hismena confirms that she was, and says that her travels had taken her to worlds where power meant everything. The male hunter says that the monster has dropped some plans and that they are going to the Industrial ruins. As the four comrades leave towards the location, Hismena is shocked by this, as the ruins are a dangerous place. Aldo asks if they will really need help, with Hismena saying that fighting Synth Humans might be different from the fight now. Aldo gets confused, but Hismena drags him towards the Industrial Ruins.

When coming to the Industrial ruins, the four hunters are found fighting a dinosaur. The four dispatch it quickly. However, when a Synth human comes, the four tries dispatching it only for their attacks to have no effect. The male hunter wonders if the Synth Human is real, with the Synth Human asking if they're only here to play games. Hismena jumps in, monologuing (and reminding the male hunter), and declaring in the name of the "Blue Rose" that she will bring it down.

After defeating the Synth Human, the male human declares Hismena to be the "Blue Rose Knight". Hismena tries to deny it, but all four are convinced to Hismena's dismay. When Aldo asks about the "Blue Rose Knight", the man dressed as a sentinel says that the Blue Rose Knight was one of the most legendary players while the man dressed as a Unigan soldier said that Hismena saved him once when he was a newbie. This goes on, embarrassing Hismena further until Aldo asks Hismena for an explanation. When asked, Hismena quickly changes the subject to taking the four back to Elzion.

Back in Elzion, the man dressed as an Unigan soldier explains that there was a news about a glitch in the system that would lead people into dangerous areas for raids. Hismena finally also explains to Aldo that she used to play an online game and that all five of them used to be guildmates, with the other people telling of her exploits. When Aldo asks why she is called the Blue Rose Knight, the man dressed as an sentinel answers that her handle used to be "The Holy Knight of Blue Rose". Hismena immediately gets embarrassed again, with Aldo asking why she would be with a wonderful title. Hismena answers by saying Aldo should understand what's cool or not regardless of the era, with Aldo exclaiming he does.

After Aldo cheers her up, the four ask if Hismena will be coming back to the game. Hismena says she has her own place in the world, with the four accepting it and saying she'll always have a place. When the guildmates talk about the next new talented rookie, "XxDemonicPrincessxX", Hismena sympathizes to the newcomer for their future.

Character Story 2[edit]

The second story starts out with Isuka pondering on certain events that have transpired way too quickly. Hismena and Aldo walk in, asking Isuka if anything is wrong. Isuka mentions that she has been investigating an issue where she is stuck, much to the surprise to Hismena as Isuka never tends to be stuck on issues. When asking for the situation detail, Isuka wonders if she should, making Hismena more curious as if the situation is tricky enough to the point she is involved. After Aldo convinces Isuka to tell Hismena, Isuka tells Hismena that multiple IDA students have gone missing randomly and that they are not accounted for in their home or school. Further, she mentions that the last place they were seen was off the school grounds. Hismena deduces it could be a kidnaping, and that the fact it is happening outside of IDA means that the jurisdiction is outside of IDEA's. Aldo asks why the EGPD and IDEA wouldn't just cooperate, but Hismena deduces that something else is going on entirely and that Isuka wouldn't be stumped if that was the case. When Hismena declares she could help with the case, Isuka says that she'd knew that Hismena would say that and that she is worried for Hismena (though she doesn't say why). Still, Isuka asks Aldo to assist Hismena in the investigations and gives Hismena the investigation scene locations. After giving advice to stay low, Isuka sends Hismena and Aldo to investigate by themselves.

When approaching the crime scene, Hismena finds EGPD officers. Aldo that mentions Isuka told them to keep a low profile and that they should make a plan. Instead, Hismena just approaches the officers and asks for entry. The EGPD denies their entry, saying that their authority doesn't extend to Elzion outside of IDA School. Hismena gives up easily, with the EGPD officer saying that she will most likely find a way around the authority and that the IDEA should affirm that the IDEA won't interfere with the investigation. When Hismena agrees and swears on the Lunabright name, the officer immediately leaves to get confirmation for something. When Aldo asks what is going on, the officer comes back and says she is permitted to enter as long as she doesn't interfere with the investigation. Aldo gets confused on how she was allowed entry, but Hismena starts the investigation.

After investigating, the two are unable to find any clues with the last clue being security cameras. When about to leave, one random EGPD officer asks if the daughter of the Lunabright family is here and that he is here to pay respects. Hismena says it is unnecessary and requests for the security camera. The officer leaves and says he will do anything for the family, which slightly upsets Hismena. The officer says he will give them the cameras in exchange for help with his own very investigation, saying that they should meet in the Elzion bar due to the severity of the topic. Aldo asks why Hismena does not like using her family name, and Hismena tells Aldo that her family is one of the three major noble families in Elzion alongside explaining that mentioning her name makes people do whatever she wants. Due to this, Hismena does not want to be shown as solely "the daughter of the Lunabright family". Aldo says that she is doing already a good job in IDEA and that she should be proud of finding her calling for helping others, with Hismena saying that she wishes it was so simple. The two leave for the bar in Elzion.

At the bar, the EGPD officer gives Hismena the security cameras. But he says the officer shouldn't put their hopes too much, The cameras show a student being kidnapped by a man who is hiding behind a terminal. Aldo says it doesn't help much, but Hismena deduces that the culprit knows the camera's blind spots. The officer deduces that the culprit is extremely cautious and that they need to put out a bait, asking Hismena to be one. After making plans that Hismena will go to the airport and that Aldo can't be around her because of the culprit's cautious nature. Aldo says this is a dangerous idea, but Hismena agrees. After the officers leave, Aldo asks Hismena why she would do this, with Hismena reaffirming that she must due to how she cannot let her family name spoil her. Entrusting her lance to Aldo, Hismena leaves for the plan.

At the airport, before leaving, Aldo asks if she wants to do this. Hismena says it will be fine and whispers something to Aldo. Before Aldo could ask, she already leaves with Aldo asking if what she said is real. Hismena meets the officer, who says she is braver then she looks and gives her a micro transmitting device. Hismena departs for the airport with the EGPD officer confirming that he was ordered to line up drones to attack Hismena on the other side. After hearing a report that the culprit is here, the confused EGPD officer goes out to see what's going on with the trap. The officer gets confused that there is a kidnapper, but then deduces that the same boss has hired both and that they should work together in kidnapping both of them. When the drone is about to kill Hismena, the kidnapper reveals himself as Aldo and both of them dispatch the drone quickly.

After defeating the drone, the EGPD officer asks how she knew with Hismena saying that the officer mentioned her first name alongside knowing where the security cameras were in the first place and that she asked Aldo to play the role of a "kidnapper" to get him to admit. The officer gets arrested, before confirming that the one who ordered to kill Hismena was one of her family members. Before Aldo says anything, Hismena says that they should debrief in the IDEA control room.

After debriefing, Isuka confirms that the kidnapping case was fake and that the target was Hismena. And that they'd knew that kidnapping elites who went to IDA would drag Hismena into this case. Hismena blames herself and her family name, but Isuka denies it saying that she done everything to keep them safe. Aldo asks why Hismena meant, where Hismena recounts that her family is one of the three biggest noble families in Elzion... And that she is the heir to the family. Such a position comes with fame, power and money alongside jealousy from the other branch families in general. If Hismena is killed or crippled, then the heir position would be happy. After hearing such, Aldo becomes disgusted by their actions and worried for Hismena. After asking if she is alright, Hismena says that it is her role to clean up the messes caused by her branch families as the heir.

Aldo and Isuka makes Hismena promise that she won't do anything reckless again. Isuka continues saying everyone in IDEA would not want Hismena to continuously harm herself in her family's name alongside Aldo saying that "Hismena"'s conviction is one thing that her family name cannot provide. In the end, Hismena accepts and that declares that one day that people will see her as "Hismena Lunabright", not "just another girl of an elite family".

Character Story 3[edit]

The last character quest for Hismena starts with Aldo and Hismena taking a stroll on the Sky Terrace. Hismena stops and ponders on why her regular report from IDEA hasn't come yet, noting that something is off. Just as she says that, the IDEA Operator comes running in and informs Aldo and Hismena that the IDEA network is completely down.

Hismena and Aldo follows Operator to the IDEA command center, which is in complete disorganization. Isuka informs them that the IDA school network is running, meaning that the network shutdown is most likely coordinated to target the IDEA network. An IDEA student informs Isuka that the network authorization data was overwritten forcibly by someone, which confuses Isuka more. Just as they are about to ponder the situation, a white robed figure walks into the operations room escorted by two other white robed figures. Hismena asks their identity, asking if they are the ones behind the network being down.

The white robed figures introduce themselves as DOXA, a shadow network that has authority even above the IDA Board of Directors. The DOXA exclaim that the IDEAlists are causing "despair" by bearing the responsibility of maintaining the peace in IDA. When Hismena claims the board will not let this slide, the DOXA boss claims that half the board are DOXA members and that an official announcement will be made for IDEA to stop all activities.

Hismena is appalled by the idea, but Isuka asks if there is a reason why IDEA must be torn down. After receiving the claim that this is for the safety of the students, Isuka surrenders in saying that the board members decisions can't be argued against. However, she also buys them time by convincing the DOXA Boss to reopen the network as rushing things would make the students uneasy. After DOXA leaves, Isuka explains to Aldo that she was buying time for the network to be left up. Afterwards, she tasks Aldo and Hismena to find a way to undermine DOXA. Hismena says that she knows a contact who could help in the hospital, so the two set out.

At the hospital, Hismena and Aldo meet an elderly woman who addresses Hismena as "Blue Rose" (much to her embarrassment). Hismena introduces the person as someone who she met online, much to Aldo's confusion. However, after explaining the situation, the elderly woman introduces herself as a former board member of IDA. The retiree states that Hismena has helped her in the game before they even knew who they were. Hismena asks the retired board member for help with the DOXA situation. The retired board member says that they do not have much time, as DOXA's involvement means a decision will probably be quickly made. She also states that the IDA school values a student's ability to change the status-quo with their talents and that if IDEA proves to be better then the security system, then there is no reason for DOXA to take over. Isuka calls midway, stating that DOXA is bringing in large Synth drones alongside equipment in general. Hismena ponders on how they could get such equipment in such speed, but says that it should be the perfect time for IDEA to strike.

Before they leave, the elderly woman asks why Hismena wants to stick to IDEA so much. Before Hismena answers, the elderly woman continues by saying Hismena values how IDEA does not take prestige or social status into value. Hismena doesn't disagree, saying that running from her family name has been an initial reason. But she also admits that she's grown fond to IDEA, saying it isn't an excuse anymore more so an ideal that she wants to stand with. After answering the question, Hismena and Aldo head to Sky Terrace, where Isuka said the equipment is being carried over.

On Sky Terrace, Aldo and Hismena meet the DOXA Boss. Hismena tells the DOXA boss that DOXA, as a result of moving dangerous equipment, can still be seen as an militant group due to how the board member has not officially approved anything yet. The DOXA boss says that it is a formality and that IDEA will be eliminated regardless. After gathering up, Hismena challenges DOXA into a battle, claiming that IDEA will have no reason to fight DOXA if DOXA can best them in a battle. After throwing out a giant robot, Hismena wonders how such equipment could be moved, but after Aldo's encouragement decides to fight the robot.

After defeating the robot, Hismena notifies that DOXA's defeat will be known and asks how they can defend the school if the students cannot acknowledge their strength. The DOXA boss strangely admits defeat quickly and also claims that if IDEA wants the school should be governed by those with undeniable power, they will oblige. Afterwards, Hismena gets a call for help from the IDEA operation room, resulting in both Hismena and Aldo demanding what DOXA has done. The DOXA Boss says an associate has paid a visit to the Operations Room and shut it down, with Hismena exclaiming that they should hurry back to the operations room.

When Aldo and Hismena reach the operations room, they come into a room full of defeated DOXA soldiers and a relaxed Isuka. Isuka claims IDEA easily defended themselves, and that IDEA knew that they would be attacked. With it, when they were faking surrender, they installed a new network entirely beforehand while disabling weapon safeties entirely. The DOXA boss truly admits defeat and then swears that DOXA will not intervene in IDEA affairs. Isuka asks who DOXA are and how they gathered such forces, as they have a bunch of support from IDA's high command. DOXA's boss responds by revealing himself as Hismena's father, much to the shock of everyone.

Hismena asks why her father would break apart IDEA, and Hismena's father laments on how Hismena never comes home or always comes in late. Her father also exclaims that he was worried that she never even talked to him after she came back. Isuka agrees that IDEA is hard work, but also puts up the idea that DOXA's support would help IDEA perform its duties without much problems. Hismena is about to agree until she drags her father upstairs.

At Sky Terrace, Hismena's father apologizes for going too far. Hismena thanks her father for caring about her, but also says she doesn't appreciate him spoiling her without her knowing. Hismena notes that it was through IDEA that she could learn about herself alongside meeting individuals who saw her for herself, not her family name. Her father asks if she doesn't want to inherit the family name, Hismena states she doesn't want to for now. When her father catches onto the "for now" part, Hismena admits she is considering taking over once she makes her own reputation in IDEA as Hismena Lunabright instead of the Head of the Lunabright family. After winning her father's approval, her father leaves, noting that he will bring back an army three times the size should she be in danger and calling Hismena by her name for the first time.

The episode ends with Hismena stating that the Blue Rose's dream will never fade as long she lives.
