Cyrus, originally a warrior from the East, became a royal retainer of the Palsifal family. One day, Reptires - a dark witch transformed by the need for vengeance - defeated Cyrus and cursed him with his current amphibian form. She went on to slay King Palsifal's wife and child. Cyrus hid himself away in a swamp, vowing revenge.
